Rhys and Public Speaking

This past Sunday, Rhys was given the opportunity to quote a scripture and say the opening prayer for the Jr. Primary (ages 3-7).  We practiced haphazardly during the week and when the big day came, with Mom whispering in his ear, he befuddled the audience with what is the speech of a 3-year-old, speech impaired child.  Not two or three words were understood, likely, but he quoted Doctrine and Covenants 35:17: "I have sent forth the fulness of my gospel by the hand of my servant Joseph."  This supported the month's theme that Jesus Christ Restored His Church in the Latter Days.

Following the opening prayer that was only understood by his loving Heavenly Father, Rhys proudly stepped down from the pulpit only to see some other toddler had joined his class' row.  And clear as day, all heard and understood, "Hey! That MY Chair!"

At least we know he can stick up for himself.

This made me laugh!!! Kate was supposed to say that one too, and she was hopeless, and in the even some random kid sat in the 'scripture' chair instead of his row and did it instead. Gotta love Primary!
