On a Spiritual High

Awesome day!  Keri ran 6 miles of trail for two hours in the morning.

The family attended a baptism of Keri's cousin, once removed, Rees! We love their family and enjoy every time we are with them.  It just turns out this was a wonderful occasion in that Rees chose to follow God's plan for him.  Keri was able to give a brief talk on the Gift of the Holy Ghost (The gift of the Holy Ghost is the privilege—given to people who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, been baptized, and been confirmed as members of the Church—to receive continual guidance and inspiration from the Holy Ghost).

We hung out with family afterwards to catch up. Loved seeing Uncle Rick and Aunt Lacey again. We ate lots of food, the kids played with their cousins, and we just talked and laughed. Love those times.

Upon arriving home, Keri squeezed in 5 miles of road running.  This is in preparation for a big race coming up.  She doesn't usually have to run twice in a day.

After jumping in and out of the shower, Keri and Sophie were off again for a very special occasion, while Neal and Rhys enjoyed some guy time.  Because Sophie is now 8 years old, she is now encouraged to attend the General Women's Broadcast in which our church leaders speak and we listen to have our personal questions answered.  I really appreciated Sis. Reeve's talk on virtue and keeping focused on long term rewards during our everyday lives.  Sophie did so great paying attention! She appreciated the humor of Pres. Uctdorf's parable especially when he referred to a "creepy cat" in the story.  We celebrated with ice cream afterwards.

Fun Run

The kids needed $30 bucks donated a piece to earn the cheap invisible ink pen for our school's fundraiser.  They didn't get the pen but the kids and I had a great time running the coarse--complete with bubble wrap to pop, tires rings, and bubbles!  So fun to run with both my kids.

Camping in Tyler State Park

Swinging in a hammock (Neal's birthday gift finally gets put to use), smores (with Neal's homemade orange marshmallows and dark chocolate--yes please!), raccoon invasions, swimming in the lake, running trails (surrounded by the most vibrant, beautiful berries), and nature hikes with the family.  Great time!
