Happy Birthday, Neal!

Happy Birthday, Husband! I was very sneaky and got this picture of Neal in his Birthday Suit while he showered this morning. Neal, Sophie and I love you and hope you will enjoy your special day. And thank you to Susan and Rudy for raising such a fine son.

Party Girl!

Sophie had a wonderful 1st Birthday thanks to all her friends and loved ones. She enjoyed the phone calls, emails, and cards that trickled in throughout the week, especially the yummy envelopes. For her party, Sophie had a BBQ and then it was time for cake. From the pictures you will see that she was meant to be in this family. After that, a quick bath surprisingly got all of the frosting and sprinkles off and she was ready for her presents. Thank you to all who sent and brought gifts. We have a very spoiled 1-year-old because of you! She finally went down for a nap when the guests made their good-byes.

Not So Great

You know what's not so great? Living with a little mirror in front of you. Like when I walk into a room and find Sophie waving her pointed finger and yelling "No!" over and over at items I have told her "No touch" to, like the treadmill. Does she exclaim over and over again "Hey, I love you", "You make me laugh" or "I just want to squeeze you!"???? No! No! No!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy First Father's Day, Neal! Sophie and I would like to thank you for your gentle ways, great sense of humor, and hard work. You are a wonderful father and husband and we know we are blessed to have you.
We celebrated Father's Day by inviting Rudy, Neal's Dad, and Becky over for dinner. We pulled out an old projector and set it up to watch old family films. However, when the time came, part of the projector was not working properly so that got canned and the men enjoyed watching golf (zzzzzzzz) on TV. They were still happy as it is one of their shared interests. Keri also got a call in to her Dad, sending well wishes. Thank you to all who thoughtfully sent cards, gifts, and made phone calls. We appreciate you!

Flag Day at the Aboretum

On Flag Day we dressed Sophie in her best patriotic outfit and went to city hall to vote in a run off for councilman. Soon after, our family braved the heavy downpour on the way to the Arboretum and took the risk of spending our day outdoors. It was a good thing we did, too, because the clouds were parting as we got out of our car and soon diminished after that.

Keri Celebrates Another Year

What an awesome year! I am happy to say that I am happy, healthy, and grateful for so many blessings that have come into my life. I was treated to lunch by Becky, Neal's step-mother and Neal and I attended the temple, a special place to us, on the evening of my birthday. The next evening we went out to eat and miniature golf. Correction: we did not actually miniature golf when we saw the pathetic course. I miss Boomer's golf course back in So. Cal. My hard-working sweetheart gave me some digital scrapbooking software that I was wanting to try out! Thanks Husband! Also a big thank you to all my wonderful family and friends that sent cards, emailed, and called to wish me well!

Rough Riders

Tuesday night our family went to a Frisco Rough Riders minor league baseball game. A friend of ours had secured some tickets and invited us along. We had a fun time and the weather was surprisingly mild. We left in the 6th inning because it was 9:30 and Sophie was done.

Not much else has happened lately. We've done some taming of the wilderness on the side of our house, trimming trees and plants. That was a pretty big job so we didn't even get to the weeds. Also we've done a bit of light birthday shopping since all of our birthday's are in June.

Keri enjoyed a girls' night working on crafts and Neal and his Dad, Rudy, went to an Indy night race last week. That's about all.
