From Canyon Camp

After 6 nights at Grant Village, we packed it up and headed to Canyon campground. We had made reservations well in advance and were glad we did as both camps were full.

At LaHardy Rapids, we watched the Harlequin Ducks.

Took about a 4 mile hike to Ribbon Lake. Quite a bit of elevation climb but over a distance. Between Lily Pond and Ribbon Lake there were swarms of mosquitos once more. Just before reaching Ribbon Lake we received small hail.

The traffic was backed up for quite a ways with this mother/calf duo. When we were too far back in the bison jam to see the animals, the kids entertained themselves with a finger game.

We stopped in Lake Yellowstone Hotel for a restroom stop and it turned into a comfortable rest from the outdoors. Neal nodded off in a few minutes next to the open window. It was very peaceful.

There was a family of marmots that we watched for a good, long time

We could hear this sleepy eyed bison snoring as we passed quietly on the nearby boardwalk at Mud Volcano.

The most entertaining was this spatting mud
