Daddy-Daughter Camping and Mother-Son Date

Usually held in winter, this event was moved all the way to May when plans got rained out and then 3 families had to agree on a date. They got settled in and swam but the morning brought heavy rain and wind. They piled in the car and when to Cracker Barrel for breakfast-girls at one table and the 3 dads at a much quieter table. A flooded tent and wet sleeping bags cut the trip short and they were on their way home way to soon given it was to be two-nighter. Short fun with a disappointing end. Good thing they already have a good relationship.

Meanwhile, Rhys and I went out to his favorite pizza place for dinner. The next morning we set out for our community's Change the World event at one of the local churches to decorate lunch sacks for The Salvation Army and make sandwiches for those using he shelter. We were having such a good time, it stretched to 2 hours. Afterwards, we headed to the Lego store and spent nearly an hour and a half there. Near the end we had a fun building mini figures with the challenge of making the most random character. They were very random. At this point the same storm was pouring buckets over the mall and thunder was cracking loudly. A quick and very wet run to the car and we were on our way home with a short stop for ice cream before meeting up with Neal and Sophie as they returned home.
