End of the School Year

Kids were happy to leave school with good grades and a sense of freedom. The temperatures were in the 90s today but they walked the mile home because they love their friends, the McDaniels, tradition and then swam in the McDaniel's pool for over an hour to return home, change, and head to the park for a party, running around, climbing trees, and chatting it up with classmates. We collected our sticky, sweaty, smelly, flushed kids and told them during the drive home that they'd have to make the showers their checklist item. "Why?!" was their response. Some things you just can't learn at school.
