Allen, U.S.A. Celebration

This is an annual event that the city puts on the last Saturday of June.  This is the first time we attended together as a family.  Trampoline. Slurpee smiles. Barefoot on green grass. Bangles concert.  Cool breeze. Biggest fireworks display in North Texas.

Highlights: Just spending a good time together.  Cuddling and stroking my sleepy-eyed son while the Bangles sang Eternal Flame.   Watching our friend, Liz, and her kids get video taped while dancing to Walk Like an Egyptian. Watching Sophie's new dance moves.

Rhys was sleeping 40 minutes before the fireworks display and there was no waking him.  Sophie nodded off as the finale came to an end.  Neal and I proved to ourselves that were superheros by hefting each one drowsy, 40 lb. child plus stuff over a 1/2 mile back to the car.  Already looking forward to next year.
