It's official! I am an approved animal shelter volunteer! This means no dog has bit my face off and I have worked with copious amounts of poop!

Last Bit of Summer Vacation

We spent the last few days of summer vacation getting an Ikea desk in for Rhys and baking authentic east coast bagels while Keri tried her hand at pie crust. The family picked a day with sporadic summer thunderstorms to hit a local swimming area where everyone tried boogie boarding on the wave machine. Always worth it when you the kids report the child next to them in line says, "Your mom is cool!" We ate lunch when the thunder clapped and all were banished from the water. The masses left at that point and we had a lot of fun without crowds after that. We slipped in some service at our local Days for Girls chapter preparing reusable feminine hygiene kits for shipping to keep girls and women in school and at work.
