Plano Balloon Festival
This evening was our first time to the annual Plano Balloon Festival held in, where else?--Plano! This is the city just south of us. We went for the Friday night launch at 6 p.m. and stayed for the Balloon Glow at 8 p.m. Neither of us had been to a hot air balloon festival before. It was fun and the balloons were beautiful and some even quirky. Sophie was a bit fussy for the launch but was content to watch the evening event.

Family Visits
Well Neal's sister, Kira, just left us and that pretty much rounded out round one of the family visits. It looks like October may be our first family free month since we had Sophie. Kira's visit went great and he was pretty amazed at how well she interacted with Sophie and how well Sophie responded to her. In fact, our little girl gave her first giggles to Aunt Kira. It was great seeing our family and now we are looking forward to some down time in our home.

Darling, you look Marvelous!
On our stroll yesterday we walked along the green belt and happened upon a 3-4 foot snake sunning itself on the sidewalk. I tossed a stone a few feet away from it and it slowly returned to the vegetation along the side of the creek, allowing us to pass. It was a fine looking snake and we were happy to keep our distance.

Sophie puts the ROLL in Rock N' Roll
Wow we started this blog just in time, I guess. We have good
news to report. This afternoon Neal called me into the living room to
see the wonderful feat Sophie had accomplished. She had significantly
propelled her body to accomplish true movement. She rolled over! I took a
picture of her and because she could not move after that, I got another
picture of her crying about her current situation.

So It Begins
This is Neal.
So like Keri said this is our blog. I plan to use this to post random musings about life here in Texas, what it's like being a father or mother, and attempting to prove to all of you that we really can parent (that's for all you who have ever said "I can't wait until you have kids"... you know who you are). So we hope you check back frequently. As you can see Sophie really likes Storm Troopers.
